What has Team 1C done so far?

Up until this year Team 1C have been running on family fundraising... but that hasn't stopped us from raising over £100k for different charities and doing some volunteering to help out where we can!

Mac House Volunteer Day

In 2019 (Covid prevented further volunteering) Team 1C went into Mac House and donated their time helping out and doing jobs for a day. It was our way of giving back to Mac House and saying thank you for everything that The House That Love Built has done for us.

The Team 1C Mac House Apartment

Team 1C have also sponsored an apartment in Mac House Alder Hey and paid for it's renovation, something we are incredibly proud of.

Liverpool Women's Echocardiogram Sim Doll

We funded the cost of a Echocardiogram Simulation Doll for Liverpool Women's Hospital by raising money through our Online Christmas Advent Calendar. Due to Covid restrictions, doctors were unable to train and learn on real patients so they needed new solutions to be able to recognise the signs for congenital heart disease in children. Team 1C were more than happy to answer the call to help!

Healing Little Heart Camps

Team 1C have helped Healing Little Hearts for and have funded 15 Camps, covering 3 continents, 5 countries and 8 different cities. It was initially the reason Team 1C was created, as a way of thanking Surgeon Ram for all he has done for our children. Supporting Dr Ram and his charitable work will always be important to us. We have raised over £80k for Healing Little Hearts which has paid for heart surgeries on 180 children.

Sporting Bears Motor Club

The “Bears”, as they are affectionately known, are a dedicated group of classic car and sports car enthusiasts who raise money children’s charities through their social, dream rides and touring events. Each year they are kind enough to invite Team 1C to come down to one of their events and treat the children to see and sit in their amazing cars! It is such a nice day for everyone!

Donating to Alder Hey and helping Ward 1C

Team 1C are a major donor to Alder Hey and we have helped out Ward 1C whenever they have needed us. We have donated both medical equipment and play equipment including toys and different arts and craft activities.

Award Winning Team

Volunteer Team of the Year 2019 (then Covid stopped play).

Plus an Award winning leader! We are super proud that Claire has been recognised with a British Citizen Award for Volunteering and Charitable work.

Stars and Stripes Ball

When Team 1C party, we go BIG. We don't just have regular Balls, we have epic ones. Our last Ball in 2018 was hosted by Heart FM's Adam Weighell and DJ'd by Jonny Bongo (Bongo's Bingo)! It is a great night of fundraising but just as importantly for all our families to let their hair down and have an amazing night together.

Wonky Walks

A Wonky Walk? Well it's a 1K Walk (named the Wonky Walk by Team 1C's Ava). So far we have had 3 Wonky Walks which have been great fundraisers, but also great opportunities for the Team 1C family to meet up and get to know each other while having a nice walk around Sefton Park

Tru Ninja

Go Ninja, go ninja, go ninja, Go Go! Team 1C had great fun taking on the Tru Ninja course in our Alder Hey/Matalan Pyjamas. We raised some money but had a lot of fun... and that's what Team 1C is about!

Virtual Runs

Team 1C members are spread all around the North West, so meeting up isn't always an option for our community. We have had 2 virtual walks/runs for Team 1C so that everyone has been able to take part and help our cause. Some people even managed to take part in the challenge by walking laps of Ward 1C itself!

Charity Gig

This was Team 1C's first fundraiser. We sold wristbands to raise money and the band Beg To Differ played in a local pub.

Jump!

Jump are a charity that Team 1C love. We have raised a little for Jump and attended their family fun days. In April '23 Team 1C and Jump worked together to put on a free family fun day for our families. It was a great success!
